Foundation Scholarships
The following scholarships are available for families with K-12th grade students at Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools. The applications will be online as of February 9, 2023. During the online enrollment process, the link for scholarships is also available while applying for financial aid. Unless otherwise noted: The scholarship deadline for the 2023-2024 school year is April 1, 2023.
Applicants must be fully enrolled in their prospective school and in good standing by April 1st in order to be considered for scholarships.

Kindergarten - 6th Grade Scholarships
Awarded to a current K - 6th grade student(s) with financial need who attends St. Mary Elementary.
Jim and Margaret Jarding Family Scholarship – (St. Michael Parishioners)
Awarded to a current K - 6th grade student(s) with financial need who attends St. Michael Elementary and is also a parishioner of St. Michael parish.
Kindergarten - 12th Grade Scholarships
1 Timothy 6:17-19 Scholarship – (Our Lady of Guadalupe Parishioners)
Awarded to current K-11th grade student(s) with financial need who is an Our Lady Guadalupe parishioner.
Avera Scholarship - Awarded to current K-11th grade students with financial need to encourage the areas of math and science.
Bart & Joanne Beacom Scholarship – (St. Lambert Parishioners)
Awarded to a current K-11th grade student(s) with financial need who is a St. Lambert parishioner.
Deacon John M. Cole Scholarship – (Holy Spirit Parishioners)
Awarded to a current K-12th grade student with financial need who is an outstanding student member of the Holy Spirit Parish.
Dorothy Bruggeman Scholarship - Awarded to current K-11th grade student(s) with financial need enrolled at Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools.
Ryan and Lesley Good Scholarship - (Holy Spirit Parishioners)
Awarded to a current K-11th grade student(s) with financial need who is a Holy Spirit parishioner.
Molseed Family Scholarship - Awarded to a current K-11th grade student(s) with financial need.
Dean & Mary Kay Thie Scholarship - Awarded to current K-11th grade students with financial need and 3 or more siblings enrolled in Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools.
*Truman James Pins Scholarship - Awarded to a current K-11th grade student(s) with special needs.
Earl A. McCabe, Jr. Memorial Scholarship – (St. Mary Parishioners)
Awarded to a current 6th or 7th grade student(s) with financial need who will attend O’Gorman Junior High School and is a St. Mary parishioner.
Presentation Sisters Scholarship - Determined by the Presentation Sisters, these scholarships will be awarded to current students between K-11th grades in the Sioux Falls Diocese.

Incoming and Current OGJH Student Scholarships
*"Be a Light for Christ" Rance Family Scholarship - Awarded to a current 7th or 8th grade student enrolled at OGJH who demonstrates a desire to learn, a good work ethic and promotes the Gospel values. Preference will be given to students who use the Study Center services.
Awarded to a current 6th or 7th grade student(s) with financial need who will attend O’Gorman Junior High School and is a St. Mary parishioner.
Hanlon Family Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to one current 6th grade student enrolled at OGJH who has 3 or more family members enrolled in Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools and demonstrates Christian values.
*Ian Mastel Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to a current 6th and a 7th grade student(s) enrolled at OGJH who is involved in instrumental or choral music at school or within the community.
Stephen Metli Scholarship - Awarded to a current 6th or 7th grade O’Gorman student(s) from a minority family with financial need.
JP (Jason Aaron) Peters Scholarship - Awarded to a 6th or 7th grade student enrolled at OGJH with financial need.
*OGJH Staff Scholarship - Awarded to a current 7th or 8th grade student(s) who lives a Christian lifestyle, has academic accomplishments, participates in school activities, does community service and shows church involvement.
OGJH or OGHS Students Scholarships
Patricia and DW (Dee) Meyer Scholarship - Awarded to a current 7th – 11th grade O’Gorman student with financial need.
Knights of Columbus (Christ the King Council 16802) Scholarship – Determined by the Christ the King Council 16802, two scholarships will be awarded to incoming students between 7th-12th grades who will be attending O’Gorman Junior High or O’Gorman High School and who are members of Christ the King parish.
O'Gorman High School Scholarships
Scott and Patti Abdallah Scholarship - Awarded to an incoming 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade O’Gorman student with financial need. It is designated for a student who is involved in both athletic and fine arts activities at O’Gorman High School.
*James P. and JoNell Jarding Family Scholarship - Awarded to an incoming 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade O’Gorman student who is involved in school/community activities.
Jeremiah D. and Mary Jean Murphy Scholarship - Awarded to an incoming 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade O’Gorman student who has financial need and maintains a 3.5 GPA or higher while being involved in activities.
Steven Schulte Memorial Band Scholarship - Awarded to an incoming 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade O’Gorman student who is active in band and has financial need.
Awarded to an incoming 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade O’Gorman student who is a St. Joseph Cathedral parishioner and has financial need.
*Joseph Viereck Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to an incoming 11th grader that exemplifies humanitarianism and kindness.
*This scholarship is not needs based and does not require a TADS application in order to be considered.
College Scholarships for Current 12 Grade OGHS Students
The Jo and Don Dougherty Scholarship - Senior from OGHS who will be attending an accredited, Catholic, post-secondary educational institution located in the continental US and has a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Msgr. James Michael Doyle USD Scholarship - OGHS graduate planning to attend USD.
Helen E. Miller Scholarship Fund - OGHS graduate with a GPA of 3.2 or higher, involved in school activities who has not received any athletic scholarship. Financial need is a major consideration.
