BACKGROUNDChuck and Edie Cannon were strong believers in a solid Catholic education. They worked hard to ensure that all five of their children were able to have both elementary and secondary education in the Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools, something that was at times a financial strain for them. Edie taught fifth grade at St. Mary Elementary for 20 years, and substituted in the system for 10 years following her retirement. Both Chuck and Edie professed a strong faith and belief in providing a strong Catholic education for their children.
BENEFITSThe recipient of the Chuck & Edie Cannon Scholarship will receive an award certificate in May as well as a tuition credit for the following fall semester at O'Gorman High School. The recipient will be determined by the scholarship selection committee.
ELIGIBILITYThe Chuck & Edie Cannon Scholarship is a special scholarship that recognizes an incoming 9th-12th grade student(s) that has financial need.
PROCEDUREThe Chuck & Edie Cannon Scholarship application form will be made available each year during enrollment on the Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools website. Please complete the application form and a 150 word essay on the reason you value your Catholic education and how those moral standards impact the way you live your life. The TADS application should be completed to be eligible for this scholarship.
