BACKGROUND

James P. and JoNell Jarding have made a lifelong commitment to the Sioux Falls Catholic School System. All three Jarding children attended grade school at Christ the King and were students at O'Gorman High School. Throughout their children's education, Jim and JoNell were actively involved as parents attending countless activities, volunteering in many capacities and supporting the school in many ways. Jim was also president of the school board and served on many committees. Their involvement in the Catholic community and their commitment to their children and their education is an inspiration. They continue that support today through their grandchildren. While giving their children a Catholic education was a priority, it required many sacrifices along the way. In honor of these sacrifices that their parents made to ensure that they received a Catholic education, Jim Jr., Julie and Jennifer and their spouses have created this scholarship to which Jim and JoNell are also contributing. They hope that this gift will help ensure that all families are given the opportunity to choose a Catholic education.
